The Ambassador of Angola to the Republic of Kenya, his Excellency Sianga Abílio spoke on the topic, "The Paths to Socio-Economic Development of Southern Africa”, as part of the celebrations of the 35th anniversary of the Liberation of the Southern African Region, which This Saturday, March 23, in Nairobi, brought together Ambassadors from the SADC Region, invited Diplomats and the Angolan Community, following a lecture, photographic exhibition and the screening of a documentary, about the importance of the bravery of the Heroes of the Battle of Cuito Cuanavale , which culminated in the Liberation of Southern Africa.



The Ambassador praised the bravery of the combatants in this battle, having reaffirmed that the leadership of President João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, to the rotating Presidency of SADC, is unequivocal proof of the Angolan Executive's commitment to seeing a stable region and following the path of development. Even so, the diplomat reinforced that, during the term of his mandate, Angola proposed to carry out a set of actions, to boost the development of the Region, in which he highlighted: “ the Valorization of human capital, financial issues, Peace and stability in the region, as well as working towards the diversification of financing sources”, therefore, he called for the participation of all living forces in the region, for their success.

It should be noted that 16 Heads of State and Government from the Southern African Region unanimously approved the 23rd of March as the Liberation Day of Southern Africa, the date of which became a national holiday, in all SADC countries, the event takes place about the motto, " For the Socio-Economic Development of Southern Africa, Let us Honor the Combatants of the Battle of Cuito Cuanavale ".
