Ambassador Sianga Abílio held separate meetings on 6th of February 2023, in Juba, South Sudan, with the Minister of Petroleum Puot Kang Chol and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Mayiik Ayii Deng to discuss issues related to the perspective of cooperation between the Republic of Angola and the Republic of South Sudan.

During the meetings Ambassador Sianga Abílio made known to his interlocutors the potentialities of Angola in the field of oil and other sectors which could serve as a starting point for a mutually advantageous bilateral cooperation, a fact that led the Minister of Oil to announce the decision to send in this year of 2023, a team of technicians to the Republic of Angola in search of knowledge and experience of SONANGOL in matters of legislation and oil production.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in turn, proposed the beginning of joint work between the Ambassadors of Angola and South Sudan in Nairobi, for the preparation of a draft proposal of a General Cooperation Agreement and expressed interest in visiting the Republic of Angola, probably in the first half of 2023.
