Engineer Sianga Abílio Ambassador of the Republic of Angola in the Republic of South Sudan with residence in Nairobi, attended, on 04th of February 2023, in the city of Juba, an ecumenical service presided over by His Holiness Pope Francis, an event that included speeches of the leaders of all religious congregations present in South Sudan and that was dominated by sessions of prayers for peace, forgiveness and reconciliation.

His Holiness Pope Francis and the other religious leaders converged on the need to implement a culture of peace and called on South Sudan's political and military leaders to do all they can with prudence and discernment to end the suffering of thousands of citizens who are still victims of the political friction in the country.

The Ecumenical Prayer Session for Peace was attended by the President of the Republic of South Sudan Salva Kiir Mayardit, members of the government, diplomatic corps and thousands of citizens.

The historic visit of His Holiness Pope Francis to the Republic of South Sudan ended, on 05th of February 2023, with a Papal Mass held at the Mausoleum John Garang in the centre of the city of Juba.

On the other hand, Ambassador Sianga Abílio held, on 05th of February 2023, a verification meeting with members of the Angolan community in South Sudan, comprising three national citizens at the service of the United Nations namely the Chief Superintendent, José Valente Pimpão, and the Intendant, Sarita de Almeida, two officers of the National Police serving in the United Nations Police and Mr. Diamantino Paulo, international staff of the UN.
