Ambassador, Sianga Abílio, was on February 28, 2023, in Nairobi, invited by a team of African experts to supervise and promote at political forums the work carried out by African experts on management of chemical products and waste on the continent.

The invitation was presented during a meeting at the Angolan Embassy in Nairobi by a group of five experts from South Africa, Angola, Nigeria, Mali and Tunisia, representing the team of African experts linked to governments, academic institutions and civil society, which is in the Kenyan capital to participate in an international conference on management of chemical products and waste, promoted by the United Nations Environment Programme - UNEP.

According to the team of experts that was at the Angolan Diplomatic Mission, the task of supervision and promotion will be through Environmental Diplomacy, to support and defend the work of the experts on issues of management of chemical products and waste with the political leaders of the African continent and international forums namely, governments, the Conference of African Ministers of Environment-AMCEN, the African Union and the United Nations Environment Programme-UNEP.

The team of experts focuses its technical work on research, analysis and evaluation of the negative impact of chemicals and their waste on the populations and environment of the African continent in order to issue proposals and suggestions that, with the support of monitoring and promotion, should be taken to the political leaders, defending the principle of balance between the economic benefit of chemicals and protection of the population and the environment.
